Hailing from Utrecht, drummer and percussionist Ton van Dort played in Accidental Gap between 1983 and 1987. This Utrecht based band had a peculiar style: a rock basis with jazz and folk elements.
A reincarnation of Accidental Gap, without guitarist Ronald Bleys, played in the '90s.
From 1991 to 1992 Ton van Dort played drums in CRT, a promising band with Chantal Bergers (vocals / synthesizer), Ronald Bleys (guitar) and Tjerk Koopman (bass). The band stopped too soon due to circumstances.
More recently Ton van Dort has played with the band BiNT, a project with Joost Vuurs entitled Crossfade, Lenny Laroux and his band De Meute, and since 2004 with guitarist/instrument builder Dorine Wiersma. He also played with Lenny Laroux and Suzy Dexter.
2008 saw Ton van Dort play in Cirque du Soleil show Varekai, stepping in for Rafik Samman. He also plays with Uhura and Unfinished Aerial Sculptures (also featuring Joost Vuurs).
