Tom Norrell, percussionist from Brighton, performs with Adam Bushell as a percussion duo. They perform a programme of bright energetic music of both vibe/marimba duets and untuned duets. Some of the pieces have been particularly written for the duo and they include work by the following composers: John Alexander, Michael Blake, Nicola Cassidy, Chris Gander, Simon Jeffes, Alison Kay, Barry Mills, Matthew Pollard, Steve Reich, Roberto Sierra and Howard Skempton.
The arrangements feature a range of world-wide influences from the Southern Indian raga to the mbira music of the South African Shona tribe. The pieces are all quite short and can be equally enjoyed by a lay audience and the more discerning percussion specialist.
