Tim Jackson began his percussion career at the age of 10, when he began drumset, mallet percussion, and rudimental snare drumming private lessons. At the age of 15, Tim marched his first indoor WGI season on quads with Thomas Worthington High School, winning a Scholastic A Gold Medal. His indoor experience grew even larger, adding three more years of competition with Columbus, Ohio's native group, Rhythm X. With Rhythm X, Tim won an Independent Open Class Title in 2002, and an Independent World Bronze Medal in 2004, his first season as section leader of the RXQ.
Tim Jackson began his Drum Corps career at the early age of 15, marching quads with Capital Regiment, also from Columbus, Ohio. Capital received the DCI Division III High Percussion trophy that summer of 2000. After taking the summer of 2001 off, Tim became a rookie section leader at the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps in 2002. His education thus far made his 2003 audition for the Concord Blue Devils a successful one.
Tim Jackson currently has marched one summer with the Blue Devils, winning the 2003 DCI World Championship, and the 2003 Tenor Individual title. Tim is currently teaching at local high schools in his hometown of Columbus, and giving private lessons. He is in his second year at the Ohio State University, and is studying Mathematics.
Tim Jackson aged out of DCI in 2006, and WGI in 2007.
