Terry "Tez" Roberts, long-time drummer in Discharge, started out as singer when the band originally formed in 1977. With Tex on vocals, Bones and Rainy on guitar, Nigel Bamford on bass and Tony Axon on drums, the line up remained the same until the back end of 1979. Then the line up became: Tezz on drums, Rainy switched to bass, Bones still played guitar and Cal (real name: Kelvin Morriss) became their new vocalist.
As Tez left Discharge in 1980, he was replaced by Keith Haynes. After his departure Tez played in various bands, eventually ending up playing for the U.K. Subs, Broken bones and has since played with: Ministry, The business, Agnostic Front, Lard, Murphie’s Law, Section 5, Discipline, Revolting cocks and Peg Boy.
In 2000 Tez returned home from the US to reform Discharge and regained the bands credibility, as he was disgusted at what the band that he had formed had become. In 2001 he got the original (recording) line up back together and Discharge released a kicking punk masterpiece entitled ‘Discharge’.
In September 2006 Terry Roberts parted ways again to "concentrate on being a devoted Dad." He was followed up by Broken Bones drummer Dave Bridgwood.
