Before singing lead vocals for Godsmack, frontman Sully Erna used to be the drummer in a band called Strip MindBut Erna's relationship with the drums goes all the way back to his fourth Christmas:

"I wanted a drum set, and my dad had been in a band his whole life as a trumpet player, so I always used to watch their bands jam, so I knew what a real drum set was, even though I was only four. So on my fourth Christmas, they bought me one of those toy paper Muppet drumsets, and I shoved my foot through the bass drum and threw it out the window (laughs). And then the next year, I got my real drum set."
