Born on the South Coast of Sussex, England, to one of the oldest fisherman families of that area, Steven Cragg has followed many interests and lifestyles. As both teenager and adult Steven has practised judo, yoga, kung fu and tai chi. Steven Cragg has been a vegetarian for 16 years and is a believer in the traditions of numerous World cultures that have their foundations in Shamanic or Animalist roots.
Steven Cragg is regarded as a leading Didgeridoo musician in Europe and has been a regular performer at Glastonbury and other music festivals around Europe. In 1990 Steven met Phil Thornton and collaborated with Phil on the music album "Initiation". The resulting chemistry sparked a series of similar shared projects; including the international innovative and best-selling album "Tibetan Horn" - a percentage of the royalties from this album are donated to the Tibetan people to help with their struggle for Human Rights.
In 1998 Steven Cragg released his first solo album "Discovery" - the album featured the very best of Steven's didgeridoo (both upbeat and ambient) utilising live layered playing together with drones and voices from Australia and Tibet. These drones have been weaved with the sampled voices of Australian, African & Tibetan cultures, live and programmed percussion.
The album was reviewed by Billboard Magazine in the USA as "….. one of the most original and stunning Didgeridoo albums of the year - a masterpiece of composition".
