Stephen Martin Jocz (pronounced Yotch), often nicknamed Stevo32 or Stevo, has played drums in Ajax, Ontario, Canadian pop punk quartet Sum 41 since they started in 1997.
Steve Jocz is of Polish descent. He was born in Ajax, Ontario, to Marg and Phil Jocz, and has an older sister named Jenn. Around 1993, he met future Sum 41 frontman, Deryck Whibley.
Jocz endorses Vic Firth sticks, Zildjian cymbals, Remo drumheads and DW Drums and hardware. He uses a 9x12 rack tom, 18x24 bass drum, 14x14 floor tom, and 16x16 floor tom.
He lists Dave Grohl, Tommy Lee, Lars Ulrich, Ringo Starr, Erik Sandin, and Josh Freese as some of his biggest drumming influences.
Steve Jocz is also featured on drums in his bandmate Cone McCaslin's side project, The Operation M.D. on both of their albums, where he is referred to as Dr. Dinero, although uncredited on the first album.
In 2007, Jocz recorded drums for two songs on Avril Lavigne's latest album, 'The Best Damn Thing'.
In the summer of 2008, Stevo toured with The Vandals on the Vans Warped Tour as a touring drummer.
More recently, Stevo has started a career directing music videos for acts such as Bowling for Soup and Aribourne.
