Steve Roberts, son of a jazz musician,is best known as former drummer for British punk band UK Subs.
He also played on 'Troops of Tomorrow', the 1982 Exploited album, except for two songs: on "Germs" and "Sid Vicious Was Innocent", on which Danny Heatley hit the skins.
Steve "Ze Suicide" Roberts was part of the UK Subs line-up from 1980–1982, 1987-1988 and in 2002, which received gold discs for the 500,000 sales of their albums 'Endangered Species' and 'Diminished Responsibility'. The band received a platinum disc for their contribution to Guns n’ Roses 14-million selling 'Spaghetti Incident' record, which features the UK Subs song Down On The Farm.
In 2010 the former drummer turned out to have become a glam singer: he formed Stevie Z And The Spiders featurinf Geoff Hardaker, former drummer with York punks Sema4, on sticks.
