Steve Goold is a drummer, musical director and educator from the Twin Cities, Minneapolis-St. Paul. He's currently working with children's entertainment artists Go Fish, Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles, and platinum-selling pop artist Owl City. On faculty with the music department at Bethel University.



Biography:

Steve Goold began playing drums at age eleven, learning the basic functions of groove from Mark Nash, drummer from Grammy-winning CCM pop group PFR. He began playing in local churches and garage bands around town as well as participating in many high school ensembles including all-conference Jazz Band for western Twin Cities and "Best Soloist" award at LaCrosse Jazz Festival. Steve started giving private lessons in the community at age sixteen.



Steve Goold attended Bethel University and played local jobbing gigs with heavy emphasis on jazz and gospel. He studied extensively during this time with internationally acclaimed avant-jazz drummer David King (The Bad Plus, Jeff Beck, others), and also internationally acclaimed rock/pop drummer Michael Bland (Prince, Madonna, Jonny Lang). In 2002 Steve, joined the music faculty at Bethel University and Northwestern College after graduating.



Steve Goold works extensively in the Twin Cities studio scene, with credits on over 100 recordings. His discography includes: Pivitplex's The King In A Rookery (produced by Grammy-winning Audio Adrenaline producer Jason Burkum), Dove-award winning songwriter Paul Baloche's To The Cross (released April 2010), indie art-rock sensation Cloud Cult's Feel Good Ghosts (featured on national E-trade television advertising), Bill Mike Band's Secure (nominated for 5 Minnesota Music Awards in 2007), Elizabeth Hunnicutt's On The Way (winning "Best Production" at 2009 CCM Worship Conference), and commercial work with clients including General Mills, Teen Challenge, KTIS radio, and Miss Minnesota.



Steve Gooldhas performed live and in-studio throughout the US, South America, Central America, Asia, and Europe Averaging 250 gigs per year, including everything from original music and freelance/commercial studio work, to jobbing gigs in jazz clubs, ballrooms, area churches, and pit orchestras.



Currently Steve Gooldis the drummer and musical director for children's entertainment vocal trio Go Fish, and also performs regularly with Grammy-winning songwriter Joel Hanson (PFR), Emmy-winning vocal quartet The Blenders, Elizabeth Hunnicutt, Jeremy Sanoski, and the Jason Harms Quintet.
