Steve Barney is a Norfolk born drummer currently living in Liverpool, UK who plays with a solid, groove based feel. He gives himself to any style while maintaining his own identity and character.



His many years of drumming has led him to a very wide range of styles with varied and extensive experience of live, studio and television performances as part of a band and as independant session work.

He has worked with artists including Jeff Beck, Annie Lennox, Atomic Kitten, Eagle-Eye Cherry, Roger Waters, John McLaughlin, Paul Rodgers, Will Young, Rosie Ribbons, Tunde (Lighthouse Family), Siobhan Donaghy (Ex-Sugababes), Tony Iommi, Apollo 440, Jamie Benson, Sebastian Rogers, Bullyrag, Mushtaq, Sizer Barker, Ryad, Jamie Scott & The Neutrinos.



Steve Barney also played drums on Will Young's sophomore album Friday’s Child (released in December 2003), along with Neil Conti. Will Young was the winner of the first Pop Idol contest in the UK in 2002.



Steve Barney has worked with producers including Al Stone, Andy Wright, Toby Smith, Cameron McVey, Chris Hughes, Gary Langan, Stephen Lipson, Phil Nicolo, Clive Martin, Jonny Cole, Bob Marlette & Marlon McVey.



In 2005 Steve Barney played with Annie Lennox at Live 8 and played live with electro breakbeat wizard Mylo, headlining The Isle Of Skye Festival. In the studio he has done recordings for Emma Bunton and the Gary Cooke single, Walk This Earth Alone.
