Stefan Gemballa started playing drums in 1985. He took lessons with a private teacher for a few years and since then he's been self-taught. In the 90s he checked out loads of bands, tried out different styles, toured the world and recorded 5 full length albums with 3 different bands.
The gig with Flowing Tears came in 2000 when Stefan Gemballa received a phone call from the band's mastermind, Ben. “I happily accepted and have been hard hitting with FT ever since,” says Stefan. In 2004 Flowing Tears became "the flagship of German Gothic Metal” with their Album “Razorbliss," gaining recognition all across Europe.
Stefan Gemballa is still busy in a few bands besides Flowing Tears, playing mostly Metal and Rock stuff: Red Aim (as alter ego “Mitch Buchanan”) , Mercury Tide and Powerwolf (as his semi-French alter ego “Stéfane Funèbre”) to mention a few.
