Scott Harris, Assistant Professor of Percussion at Stephen F. Austin State University, teaches applied percussion, directs the SFA Steel Band and Percussion Ensemble, and serves as the coordinator/director of the annual SFA Summer Percussion Symposium.
Scott Harris has taught at the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Baptist University, Concord College, East Carolina University, and at the International Music Camp in Dunseith, North Dakota.
He holds degrees from the University of Massachusetts, East Carolina University, and the University of Oklahoma.
As an active percussionist, Scott Harris has performed with the Orchestra of the Pines, Shreveport Symphony, Longview Symphony, the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Panama Steel, and the Star of Indiana Drum and Bugle Corps.
Scott Harris is an Associate Editor for Percussive Notes and a member of the PAS Contest and Audition Procedures Committee.
