Talented young drummer Sam Heeley, a member of Concord Youth Music's rhythm section, was named British Youth Band Association Young Musician of the Year for the second time in a row in January 2014.



Playing his own composition on his drum kit, Sam Heeley not only won the 13 years and under percussion solo section, but beat all other age group drummers with a perfect 100 per cent score.



That qualified Sam Heeley to enter the finals competition against the top players from the brass, woodwind and percussion sections – and again took the title by a clear margin.
