Ryan Stanek played drums in Broken Hope. The co-founding drummer passed away on March 1 at the age of 42.
Ryan Lynn Stanek was born in Janesville, WI on April 22, 1972 the son of Conrad and Janis (Grant) Stanek. He graduated from Antioch Community High School in 1990. For the past eight years, Ryan worked for DRL, Inc. as a Senior IT Developer, beginning his career with Integrated Software and Fidelitone Inc. Ryan was a talented singer, songwriter, and musician of Key Thirteen, Hawse Creed, and was the original drummer of Broken Hope.
In addition to performing, Ryan enjoyed friends and family, hunting, fishing, and motorcycling. On August 30, 2014 he married Cynthia (Biel) Petersen in Friendship County, WI.
Ryan Stanek was the dear son of Conrad and Jan Stanek of Antioch; a devoted father to his son Colton Stanek, Austin (Kaytee) Lange, Alicia (Zack) Lange and Gracie Marie and grandfather, to Callan Lee and Layla Renae. Ryan was also a cherished brother of Heather (Kurt) Radke and Kara Furlan; brother-in-law of Julie (Mike) Pohl, John (Tina) Biel, and Chris (April) Biel; fond uncle of Kurtis Jr., Reagen, Angelica, Jacqueline, MacKenzie, Gabriella, Kaitlyn, Mikey, Ariana, Allyson, Chelsey, Justin, and Jolene; son-in-law of Richard and Mary Lou Biel, and nephew, cousin and friend of many.
