Riley Breckenridge plays drums in Thrice. However, that was not his dream when he was in high school: Breckenridge kept busy in a variety of team sports.



When he sustained playing football during his senior year due to a knee injury , his life changed significantly. Breckenridge recalls:

"I couldn’t play sports for most of my senior year. I needed something to do, some way to spend my time instead of being out on the practice field. So I decided to get a drumset, and that’s when I started playing in bands with friends."

In college college, Breckenridge's interest in drumming continued.



And although his drumming was admittedly rusty, Breckenridge’s interest in the band began to take shape as things with Thrice started to progress. His interest in drumming followed accordingly, and through much practice and lessons, Riley quickly became the well-oiled machine he is today.
