Ray Newton is known throughout the world as a diversely talented and flexible showman... A true

multi-stylist drummer, percussionist, and performer.



Ray's resume includes world tours, recordings, and performances

with The Village People, The Duke Ellington Orchestra, Snow, Mark

Morrison, and The Pan-American Symphony Orchestra. He's played

such venues as Radio City Music Hall, The Apollo Theatre, Las Vegas,

and The United Center, and has recorded on Atlantic, BMG/RCA,

CBS, and Polygram.



Some of his television work includes Oprah, The Grammys, judging appearances on Star Search, various commercials, and the syndicated Cosby Show theme song. Newton has also been a featured contributor to the United Negro College Fund.



Ray is based out of NYC and currently works as band leader of Ray Newton's Deziire, drummer with Melba Moore, and as drummer, band contractor, and musical director for various name artists.
