Ray LeVier is a freelance drummer and producer in and around New York city.
Ray Levier started playing drums when he was eleven years old. He learned 2 or 3 beats from a friend down the street who had just started drum lessons. No sooner did Ray even get a grip on playing a simple 2 and 4 groove, he had the unfortunate event of getting severely burned in a camping accident. The drums were a way of healing himself after the fire. He just kept playing and always tried to improve through the years.
Today Ray Levier is a professional drummer/producer touring and recording extensively.
Ray's drumming teachers and mentors are Sal LaRocca, Keith Crane, John Riley, Adam Nussbaum, Kim Plainfield, Tommy Campbell, Marvin "Smity" Smith, Robby Ameen, and anybody who ever picked up a stick.
Ray Levier has drummed with Mike Stern, John Abercrombie, Joe Locke, Francois Moutin, Berkana, Dave Binney, Wayne Krantz, KJ Denhert, and Dave Mann among others.
