Five Finger Death Punch drummer and band co-founder Jeremy Spencer's rise to fame is a story of diligence and perseverance. Born in Oakland City, IN on January 8, 1973, Spencer shares a birthday with Elvis Presley and David Bowie. At age 6, after seeing the cover of a KISS record, Spencer became fixated on the drums and his grandmother bought him an $80 kit from Sears. Over the next decade, he learned to play by ear, while performing snare in the Boonville High School Marching Band from sixth grade through high school. At 19, he left Indiana, emigrating from the Midwest to Oceanside, CA where his dreams remained unfulfilled. He moved to Franklin, TN, where he enjoyed a short tenure with a country act, but soon thereafter returned to Los Angeles where while playing in various area metal bands he answered an advertisement guitarist Zoltan Bathory had placed. With the introduction came the birth of Five Finger Death Punch.

Spencer has enjoyed great success, with the band enjoying three consecutive RIAA gold certified releases for sales exceeding 500,000 copies. These albums The Way of the Fist (2007), War Is The Answer (2009) and American Capitalist (2011) delivered ten consecutive Top 10 hits. In 2012, Revolver Magazine awarded Spencer the Golden Gods Best Drummer Award, whole Metal Hammer Magazine in the UK cited the band as Best New Band & Breakthrough Artist in 2010.

This past year, Five Finger Death Punch released The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell Volumes 1 and 2, both of which have been best sellers on sales charts across the globe. Spencer is also the creator of Extreme Metal Drum Loops Vol. 1. Born Jeremy Spencer Heyde on January 8, 1973 in Oakland City, Indiana, jeremy Spencer started playing drums at age six on a drum set his grandmother purchased at Sears. After high school, he moved to Los Angeles, where he met BulletBoys guitarist, Mick Sweda. After spending a few years in various bands and projects, it was a fateful online discovery that would help spawn the beginnings of Five Finger Death Punch.

Jeremy Spencer is a founding member and currently drumming for Los Angeles based thrash metal band Five Finger Death Punch (FFDP) - featuring members of Motograter (Electra), U.P.O (Sony/Epic) and Anubis Rising.

For a fall 2018 tour with Breaking Benjamin, Spencer was replaced by Charlie Engen in order to undergo surgery on his back. On December 18, it was announced that Spencer would not be returning to the band due to the damage in his back.

In June 2019, it was announced that Jeremy Spencer has continued the band's support of 1st responders and was sworn in as a reserve police officer in Indiana.

On September 17, 2019, it was announced that Spencer would be acting, co-directing, writing and providing the music for the erotic horror parody series Lady Killer TV, which he also created. The series features several prominent pornographic actors and actresses, such as Tori Black, Adriana Chechik and Tommy Pistol.

It’s with mixed emotion that I share with you the following news: I regret that I’ve decided to step down as the drummer of Five Finger Death Punch. This decision has been weighing on me for months; now the time has finally come. I’ve been playing drums since I was six years old. After years of the physicality leading to surgeries, I feel it’s best to step down.

As with professional athletes, when the body and mental state don’t achieve the standard required to meet the rigorous demands necessary to perform at a high level, the choice is clear. I feel fortunate that my body has provided me with several decades of doing what I love most: playing double-bass and shredding drums. However, the rigorous physical wear and tear has worn down my body to the point where I feel I can no longer deliver a performance you great fans deserve and one that brings me satisfaction and joy.
