On January 14, 2013 the sixth edition of the Sandlane Sessions took place in the Sandlane Recording Facilities in Rijen, The Netherlands. An initiative of Remo distributor EMD Music in Belgium and the studio. This time it was ex-Within Temptation drummers Stephen van Haestregt's turn to show the insights of how he records and mixes drums, resulting in two videos per song; one drum mix and one song mix. Naturally, Stephen recorded tracks of Within Temptation a surprising Cajun Classic, Bob McDill's 'Louisiana Saturday Night'.

Stephen van Haestregt (Westdorpe, 1972) is perhaps best known as drummer for Dutch gothic metallers Within Temptation. He started playing drums at age four, when his grandmother gave little Stephen a toy drum kit. He got his first real drum kit at age eleven.
When Stephen van Haestregt was fourteen, he formed his first band: Sacrament. Next he played in Paralysis, and Ambeon.
In 1993 Stephen became the original drummer in Orphanage. Two years later, in 1995, Stephen was followed up by Erwin Polderman.
Stephen is also working as a studio engineer/producer, and drumming in My Favorite Scar.
