New Orleans native Jonathan "Sugarfoot" Moffett began playing drums at the early age of six. By the age of ten, Jonathan was performing with his older brothers in a High School dance band. His gifted abilities on the kick drum earned him the nickname, "Sugarfoot".

After gaining playing experience with bands on the New Orleans scene, Jonathan moved to Los Angeles in 1979. Soon after moving to L.A., Jonathan embarked on the Jackson's world famous Victory Tour. In the 1980's and 90's Jonathan was the preeminent touring drummer with twenty major tours to his credit. Jonathan has worked with many famous artists such as The Jackson Family, Madonna, George Michael, Diana Ross, Elton John, Peter Cetera, Lionel Richie, Patty Austin, Cameo and Richard Marx to name a few.

In 1985 Jonathan hit the road with Madonna for her debut Virgin World Tour. He also toured as drummer and musical director with Jermaine Jackson. In 1988 he toured with Elton John and performed on his "Sleeping in the Past" album.

Aside from working on movie soundtracks including Eddie Murphy's "Coming to America" and Madonna's "Truth or Dare", Jonathan also found time to work on a solo project, tour with Janet Jackson, and complete his portion of a Time Warner Drum Lesson book and CD entitled "Lessons with the Greats". Jonathan's solo project "Rhythmic Circles", a drum loop sampling CD with over 175 drum loops in multiple music styles was released on the Voice Crystals record label.

Jonathan spent much of the 80's and 90's recording and working with producer Patrick Leonard. Notably, Jonathan recorded with Julian Lennon, Peter Cetera, Richard Marx and Elton John. Most recently, Jonathan has performed with the smash hit Italian artist, Vasco Rossi.

Released by Total Experience Records, This was the second commercially world release song (the first was " Second Line" which he recorded back in 1971 in New Orleans, La. with his band 'Stop Incorporated', still this day the 1 Mardi Gras season hit song and New Orleans anthem) Jonathan recorded and it became a 1 hit and R&B classic! Sampled by many different major rappers in the Rap and Hip Hop world. As the song says, "Don't Stop the Music" and "Don't Stop the Beat"!!!!! What about " I WANT MUSCLES" by DIANA ROSS? Born in New Orleans,Louisiana with a passion for music and graphic arts. First started playing at age 6 on his first snare drum(a Ludwig marching snare). Playing at school dances, parties and talent shows by age 8, night clubs by the age of 9, making his own money with his older brother's and their friend's band The Caveliers. "They would sneek me in the back doors because I was so underage {I don't know if they paid me right, but I sure had a lotta fun playing with the big guys - HOPE THEY DIDN'T RIP ME OFF!!!!!}".

At the age of 12 became known as " S U G A R F O O T " because of the fast, articulate and pronounced bass drum work he had developed! Playing 16th and even 32nd note figures dynamically within the rhythms. This name stuck all around town. "People didn't even know my REAL name." Played with several various popular local bands around town and in the region for 15 years to local celebrity status. A tape of the last local band I played with, the "Money Band", made it's way out of town in the hands of the lead singer of that band he had been with. "He let Jermaine Jackson of the Jacksons hear the tape and Jermaine sent for me through him. In the second week of January of 1979, I drove out to Los Angeles,California and Hollywood to meet with Jermaine. By the end of February(1 1/2 months later), I joined, THE JACKSONS".

From seeing him on the first tours with The Jacksons, other recording artist groups such as Patti Austin, Lionel Richie, Tina Marie, Cameo, Madonna, Elton John, and eventually George Michael would call upon his services to supply the heart, power, finess, feel, dynamics and articulation of their songs and grooves. Within the world renowned Jackson family alone, Jonathan has played for 4 major recording and touring artist-and intities in the world and in the history of music- The Jacksons/Michael Jackson/Janet Jackson/ and Jermaine Jackson. Jonathan "Sugarfoot" Moffett is a very accomplished musician, songwriter and producer. His huge talent led him to perform in concert on twenty-two major tours including the world famous Jackson's Victory Tour. He has recorded with great artists such as Madonna, Diana Ross and Elton John. Moffet has performed on popular television shows such as The Tonight Show, Good Morning America, Saturday Nite Live and Arsenio Hall and numerous music videos, movie song titles and television commercials.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, the third son of a musical family of siblings, Jonathan Moffett began playing on a marching snare drum at the tender age of six. From the six weeks he was in contact with Jermaine Jackson and his brothers, and the group Undisputed Truth and New Birth. Formal requests from these artists were considered and Jonathan decided to join The Jackson's. After just six weeks in Los Angeles, Jonathan embarked upon his first major tour with the Jackson Family in the spring of 1979.

Jonathan Moffett was very successful and two more US tours with The Jackson's followed. One in the winter of 1979 and the other in the spring of 1981. His career was off to an incredible start. 1982 was packed with two additional tours. One with Patti Austin in the spring and the R&B funk group Cameo in the fall. To carry him over from 1982 through 1983, Jonathan joined Lionel Richie's first solo artist efforts, which included the Tokyo Music Festival, Japanese Television Shows, Americas Saturday Nite Live an Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. The summer of 1983 Jonathan rejoined Cameo for his second tour with them.

The Jackson relationship again resumed for the massive 1984 Jackson's Victory Tour concert. Madonna requested his services for her 1985 debut Virgin Tour, which was to be the first of many. Following the Virgin Tour he performed with artist Tina Marie. From December 1985 to January 1986, with an impressive list of credits, Jonathan toured with Jermaine Jackson and was showcased as Jermaine's Musical Director. The tour lasted to the fall of 1986. Jonathan completed that year with his third Cameo Tour.

In the spring of 1987, Jonathan Moffett rejoined Madonna for her spring/fall tour. Then it was in to the recording studio with producer and songwriter Patrick Leonard for album projects that included Peter Cetera, Julian Lennon and Madonna's Like a prayer sessions.

The following year, Jonathan wrote, arranged, produced and performed backing vocals on a song for the Eddie Murphy/Arsenio Hall hit movie Coming to America for Paramount Pictures. During that summer he began his first association with pop legend Elton John, which continued through October 1989, encompassing two US tours, one European tour, a UK tour and the recording of Elton's Sleeping with the past album.

The spring of 1990 saw Jonathan Moffett's third world tour with Madonna and two more album associations with True Blue and the Dick Tracy movie sound track. This was followed by Madonna's 1991 Truth or Dare tour and movie. 1991 also included two tours with George Michael, one in the US and the other in Europe and South America.

The next two years were filled with numerous television appearances, studio recordings, videos and continued writing, arranging and producing of Jonathan's own personal solo efforts. One of the recent tours brought him back to the Jackson family with Janet Jackson in the 1993-1994, Janet
Tour.

Along with Jonathan Moffett's impressive list of credits, he is a proud inductee into the marquis "Who's who" journals including "Who's who in America", "who's who in the West" and "Who's who on the World". His aspirations are many and his dedication to perfection during his quest for fulfillment of the is honest.
