Olly Smith is a professional drummer, guitarist and songwriter who has been performing since the age of fifteen.
In 2003, Cubic Space Division, with whom Olly Smith handled guitar and vocal duties as well as being a main songwriter, released their self-titled album through Undergroove Records to critical acclaim. Over the next few years Olly Smith gained huge experience regularly touring the UK circuit.
In 2007 Olly Smith became backline tech for The Lauren Harris Band, fronted by vocalist Lauren Harris, daughter of Iron Maiden bassist and founder Steve Harris.
Olly worked for The Lauren Harris Band on the 2008 Iron Maiden - Somewhere Back In Time Tour at some of the world's largest venues including the legendary Madison Square Garden, New York.
Within a year Olly Smith became the bands drummer, replacing sticksman Tommy McWilliams, and toured regularly including to support Iron Maiden on their 2009 leg of The Somewhere Back In Time World Tour, travelling the globe on Iron Maiden's customised 757 aircraft performing to sold-out stadiums and arenas including a gig in front of 80,000 people in São Paulo. Later that year the band also supported Mötley Crüe on the European leg of their Crüe Fest tour.
Olly Smith is now the drummer for upcoming UK band Six Hour Sundown, also featuring Lauren Harris. They are touring this year featuring festival performances such as Download Festival, Sonisphere (Spain) and Graspop (Belgium) amongst others.
Olly Smith's studio experience is also extensive, including having recorded an album with Kevin Shirley at the legendary Compass Point Studios. His drumming style is solid and tight with heaps of groove, adding flourishes where necessary but always complimentary to the song.
