Biography:
UK session drummer Dean Hendy has been playing the drums for as long as he can remember and played his first gig at the age of 14.
Dean Hendy started playing the drums at a very early age, playing by ear and jamming along to all of the family’s record collection.
After having lessons from a great drum teacher, who goes by the name of Luddy, Dean Hendy started to read music and open up his mind to experience different genres, playing styles and cultures that has helped him become the player he is today.
Dean Hendy decided to further his training by taking lessons from a few of the UK’s top drum tutors, whilst working with various cover bands on the nightclub and holiday camp circuit.
Since breaking through as a session musician, Dean Hendy has performed with countless shows and tours, and featured on recordings of different styles of music from orchestral all the way through to rock.
Dean Hendy has supported a host of professional artists, performed on well-known theatre shows and for some of the top leading tribute shows in the UK.
Furthering his musical training, Dean Hendy has picked up qualifications in music and drums which enabled him to be an educator himself, and has a large number of pupils keen to replicate his success.
Having been trained to read music, use click/metronome and playing with loops, Dean Hendy has broadened his skills and versatility.
Dean Hendy has worked with artists such as Jordan Bracewell, Bobby Arechiga, Jason Donovan, Toyah Wilcox, Aiden Marshall, Richie Evans (Heavens Basement/Roadstar/Hurricane Party), Ben Grimsley (Dear Superstar), Dean Foxx (Knock out Kaine), Emily Clark, Liam Madison, plus theatre shows including Vampires RockLes Miserables, The Buddy Holly Story, Love is in the Flares, and East Midlands Orchestra.
Dean Hendy has also drummed with King King feat. Alan Nimmo, Monarchy (Queen tribute band), Abba-dream (Abba tribute band), Soul Intention, Motown Review, Snatch, The Dogs Monarchs, The BBC (aka The Backstreet Bar Crawlers), Regenerate, and Factor X.
