Philip M. "Phil" Buerstatte was the original drummer in Last Crack (initially known as Smash Palace). He was followed up by Chris Havey. The second incarnation of the band released the 'Runheadstartscreaming' album around 1993-94.



Phil Buerstatte was a member of White Zombie from 1992-1994, hitting the road with the industrial act for its La Sexorcisto tour. The percussionist also recorded three songs with White Zombie.



Phil Buerstatte passed away over the weekend of May 19-20, 2013 in Madison, Wisconsin. He was 44 years old.
