A self taught drummer, Paul "Phinkky" John Jr has been keeping the beat for over 20 years now and he's only just begun. Influenced by great drummers such as Nat Townsley, Gordon Campbell, Jeff Davis, Will Kennedy, and Chris Dave, Paul's foundation as a drummer started where most great musicians have - in the church.
He has worked with many gospel artists such as Timothy Wright, Donald Lawrence, and Karen Clark-Sheard. In the past, he has worked with R&B artists such as Jaime Hawkins, Dave Hollister, and Kelly Price. He has recorded for U2's rock legend Bono, pop sensation Christina Aguilera and R&B songstress Alicia Keys who he has worked with since 2000.
To date, Paul John Jr's career has led to performances at award shows such as The Grammy's and The American Music Awards and talk shows such as Ellen, David Letterman, and the Tonight Show. In the future Paul hopes to become his own producer and songwriter. Though it seems like Paul has had much success, he is still determined to achieve his goal as a well known, accomplished, musician.
