Acknowledged as an accomplished World Percussionist, composer and educator, Pamela Lynn is building a successful career in the field of World Music. Her unique and captivating sound was developed by fusing the interwoven sounds of West African and Middle Eastern rhythms with her own contemporary style.
The concept of "Freestyle Drumming" evolved from a strong desire to share her love of drumming with people of all ages. A natural sense of artistry enables her to be a dynamic entertainer and an inspirational teacher.
Pamela Lynn's new solo album (Fall 2006) is entitled "Fearless and Feminine: A Voice of Intuitive Rhythms." With intimacy, and a belief in the power of expression through rhythm, Pamela Lynn has created a reflective collection of original compositions. Blending traditional rhythms with powerful new arrangements, a rich and intriguing voice emerges: bold yet vulnerable, confidant but questioning. From energetic, complex drumming to sensitive, captivating vocals, Pamela explores her story, her beliefs and her mystery. All instrumental and vocal performances on this cd are by Pamela.
An instructional cd called, "Essential Rhythms For Personal Empowerment" was released early in 2006. Pamela designed the twenty energetic rhythms to inspire and encourage the listener's natural creativity, and help them take their first steps toward Freestyle Drumming. With the development of basic and more advanced skills, drummers have the ability to enjoy the positive physical and emotional benefits of spontaneous rhythms.
While progressing with her own skills, Pamela Lynn has been inspired by many respected performers and teachers: artists such as Glen Velez, Pete Lockett, Mickey Hart and Hossam Ramzy. She also completed advanced training with internationally renowned master facilitator, Arthur Hull, and graduated from Remo's HealthRHYTHMS® Program, conducted by Dr. Barry Bittman, Medical Research Neurologist, and Christine Stevens, lecturer and Music Therapist.
Living on Vancouver Island, British Columbia with her three daughters, Pamela Lynn has always had an interest in music, dance and drumming. She also understands and embraces issues facing women around the world, and expresses her concerns through her music as well as being an active supporter of efforts to raise awareness and address these issues. On her latest cd, "A Voice of Intuitive Rhythms," Pamela pledges a portion of her sales to Equality Now, an international women's human rights organization.
Her mission is to make a significant contribution to society by living a life of social conscience, while following her passion for drumming.
Pamela Lynn has been featured in Modern Drummer, the Nanaimo Daily News and Rhythm, the UK's leading rhythm magazine.
