"Papa" Glass was born as Nowell Joseph Glass, son of drumming legend Booker T. Glass (real name: Henry Glass.



New Orleans native "Papa" Glass was a drummer with the Olympia Brass Band for 37 years, featuring Leroy "Boogie" Breaux on snare drum.



Nowell Joseph "Papa" Glass died in 2001 at age 73.
