Noel Crombie is probably best known as drummer and percussionist in Split Enz. He was born on April 17, 1953 at Wellington New Zealand as Geoffrey Noel Crombie. He joined the band Split Enz in 1974. He was - among other issues - featured on the band's 1982 album "Time and Tide".
The next year, in 1983, Split Enz recruited Paul Hester as their drummer. As drummer-vocalist-percussionist Crombie was responsible for making unusual noises, smashing gongs, and even helping to design stage costumes and create promotional film clips.
