Nick "Tig" van Gelder was drummer in Ozric Tentacles. The band emerged during a morning jam session at the Stonehenge festival in 1982.



During the nineties he joined Jamiroquai and was featured on the "Emergency On Planet Earth" album. After Nick van Gelder had parted ways with Ozric Tentacles, the band recruited Merv Pepler as their new drummer, alongside percussionist Paul Hankin.



In 1994 Nick Van Gelder teamed up with New Heavies guitarist Simon Bartholomew and founded Akimbo.
