Mike Lasaponara has been playing since the age of 13, when he began doing drum line and jazz band in high school. He went to Suny Fredonia for music, and earned a bachelor’s degree in sound recording technology.
Shortly after college, Mike began playing in Rochester based group Roses Are Red, a band on Trustkill Records.
He departed in in February 2007, just after the conclusion of the Glitz 'N Glamour tour. Soon after the group disbanded.
Michael Lasaponara went on to play drums in the California based-band William Tell for a short while. He then began doing drum tech work for bands such as The Used, The Academy Is..., Armor For Sleep, Cobra Starship and Chiodos.
Michael Lasaponara is currently drumming for emo-punk/pop outfit Cute Is What We Aim For. He joined the group in 2008, replacing their original sticksman Tom Falcone.
Mike has studied under Chris Pennie (Coheed and Cambria) as well as Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion).
