Michiel van der Plicht's bio in his own words:

"My story goes way back to the early 80's. When I was very young, my parents noticed that I had musical interests. So on my third birthday they gave me a tiny guitar. I threw away the guitar and started smashing my guitarcase, playing with my parents' records. When I was about 9 years old, I took my first drumlessons and a year later I got my first drumkit.



In this period I discovered my passion for harder music. I became a Guns N' Roses fan. I wanted to play everything Guns N' Roses' drummer played, but the drumlessons weren't going fast enough, so I quit after two years and started to teach myself just by listening and watching other drummers."

At age 17 Michiel van der Plicht starts his first band: Travelers In Time - with whom he still plays. After two or three years Michiel wants to play faster and more aggressive music.



The band Grinroth asks Michiel van der Plicht to join them, soon after followed by Katafalk. After several months Michiel decides to choose for Katafalk. He stays with them until July 2005, when he departs to to concentrate on his duties in his second band Prostitute Disfigurement. Previous Katafalk drummer Martin rejoins to the fold.



2004 sees Michiel temporary fill in with As It Burns, and join Toxacara as well.



In 2008 Michiel van der Plicht is recruited as Detonation's new drummer, replacing Thomas Kalksma.
