Michael Olivera is one of the most prominent drummers in the Cuban and Spanish music scenes. It has now been four years since his arrival in Madrid, and so far he has performed with major artists such as Alfredo Rodríguez (a Quincy Jones Artist), Javier Colina, Sting, Esperanza Spalding, Tomatito, Perico Sambeat, Miryam Latrece, and many others.

After working as a drummer, producer, and arranger on various albums, Michael Olivera decided to launch his first project as a bandleader in 2016, giving birth to his debut album titled "Ashé."

As a drummer, percussionist, and music producer, Michael Olivera García’s life has been closely intertwined with music since the age of 10. He began playing classical percussion at the EVA (Escuela Vocacional de Arte) in his hometown of Santa Clara. Later, he made his way to the ENA (Escuela Nacional de Arte).

Alongside musicians of his generation—such as Ariel Bringuez and Reinier Elizarde “El Negrón”, among others—he began to develop a unique and distinctive style in how he approaches the instrument and music itself, adopting a fresh perspective on improvisation and accompaniment.

He has performed and recorded with a wide range of musicians, including Alfredo Rodríguez, Ariel Bringuez, Síntesis, Pablo Martín Caminero, Esperanza Spalding, Roman Filiú, Jose Luis Quintana (Changuito), Peter Slavo, Tomatito, Sting, Ivan “Melón” Lewis, and the Orquesta Sinfónica del Vallés, among others.
