Mel Pritchard was the former drummer with British progressive rock band Barclay James Harvest.



Melvyn Paul Pritchard, usually credited as Mel or Melv, was born in Oldham, Lancashire, England in 1948. He played with Barclay James Harvest throughout their career and following the band's split, worked with Les Holroyd in his spin-off band, 'Barclay James Harvest featuring Les Holroyd'.



Mel Pritchard died of a heart attack in January 2004, at the age of 56.
