Link Logen started playing drums in 1985 and quickly taught himself how to read and write drum notation. He began composing music that was hard for him to play to better himself. He then joined his high school marching band and started out on 5th bass. He quickly climbed through the ranks to the snare line.
At that same time Link Logen was also in the high school jazz band, pep band, symphonic band and was the drummer for Verbal Irony, a local punk/rock band. In 1988 Link won first place class A for a drum ensemble and first place class B for a drum solo.
From '90 to '95 Link Logen toured Spain, Scotland, Italy and France with an Italian rock band called "Broken Shoes" and the instrumental side project "Sei Per Tre". He learned how to read write and speak Italian fluently and still does to this day.
While in Italy he took vocal lessons from maestro Luigi Benedetto and started a drum corp called the "1st Regiment".
In 1995 Link Logen came back to the US and taught himself how to play the guitar. He has a total of 7 albums registered with the Library of Congress. He has taken vocal lessons from Bob and Carol's School of Music and the Evangel Academy of Fine Arts.
In 2004 Link earned the title of Northeast Ohio's Best Drummer and in '05 he founded the Federation of Drums and Percussion LLC.
Link Logen has been in Drum Magazine, Modern Drummer and Musical Merchandise Magazine. He has been on Channel 5's Good Morning Cleveland, Channels 19/43 and Fox 8.
He has set 2 world records for the Double Bass Marathon. The first one being 160 BPM for 14 hours and 38 minutes and the other one being 432 BPM for 10 hours and 30 minutes.
