Laurent Warnier, born in 1988 in Luxembourg, discovers his passion for music at the age of six. He begins his percussion studies at the local wind band of Sanem, and then changes to the Conservatory of Esch/Alzette, percussion class of Paul Mootz and Serge Kettenmeyer, where he obtained his “Premier Prix” in 2006. Parallely, he studied chamber music, piano, jazz, conducting, musical education and writing.
Laurent Warnier graduated in the “Music” section at the “Athéné de Luxembourg” in 2006 and is now pursuing his studies in percussion at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, Netherlands, in the classes of M. Peter Prommel, M. Jan Pustjens, M. Nick Woud and M. Gustavo Gimeno.
Several masterclasses with, among others, Keiko Abe, Emmanuel Sejourné, Jean Geoffroi, Simone Rebello, Bruno Castelucci and Arnold Marinissen have left their impact. Furthermore, Laurent Warnier is laureate of the UGDA music competition (Luxembourg) and of the EMCY competition for Marimba in 2006 (Germany).
He was participant of the Orchestre des Jeunes de la Grande Région and the European Union Wind Orchestra, and is member of different musical formations, among them the Brass Band du Conservatoire d’Esch sur Alzette and the Harmonie de Soleuvre.
