Kurt-Hans Goedicke Hon. RAM, was born and educated in Berlin, Germany. He graduated with Honours from U.d.K (Universität der Kϋnste, formerly fϋr Musik).
Kurt-Hans Goedicke has held the position as Principal Timpanist for RTE SO Dublin, Ireland and the London Symphony Orchestra (1964 - 2000).
Kurt-Hans Goedicke worked as Professor for Timpani at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, was Head of Timpani and Percussion at the Royal Academy of Music and Distinguished Fellow in Timpani and Percussion and Head of Department at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
Kurt Hans Goedicke has held masterclasses all over the world including in Tokyo, Berlin, New York and the UK. In 2008/2009, he was tutor and coach to EUYO.
