Kofi Baker is the son of Cream's legendary drummer Ginger Baker. Kofi hits the skins in Ohm, the band also featuring former Megadeth guitarist Chris Poland. He also plays with Uli Jon Roth (ex-Scorpions).
Kofi Baker has accrued 22 years as a professional musician. He has his own drum school in California.
Biography:
Kofi Baker made his first appearance with his father Ginger Baker on a 1975 live TV show called the Old Gray Whistle Test, he's been playing for the public ever since.
The early 80's found Kofi Baker and his father playing drum duets throughout Europe. Later Kofi toured with John Ethridge (Soft Machine), giged in London with Steve Waller (Manfred Mann) and with Randy California (Spirit).
Kofi Baker joined Steve Marriot's Next Band after Humble Pie for European tours. Highlights of the 1990's for Kofi were a Budapest tour with Jack Bruce, signing to Scotty Brothers Records and recording the album Lost City in '92, followed by recording the album "Abstract Logic" with Jonas Hellborg and Shawn Lane in 1994.
This was followed by a variety of tours including more drum duets with Ginger. Now living in Los Angeles, Kofi Baker formed Tapestry with Ric Fierabracci and Brett Garsed. Now Kofi Baker plays in Ohm, a fusion jazz outfit with Chris poland on guitar and Robertion Pagliari on bass. As well as Ohm, Kofi has the Kofi Baker band, most of the time with Ric Fierabracci or Pagliari on bass and Bobby Rowbless on guitar.
