Kevin John Morris (London, 1955) is best known as drummer with British rythm 'n' blues band Dr. Feelgood, and from his side project Shaman Spirits (featuring Oysterband's Dil Davies on drums).
Between leaving school and joining Dr Feelgood as their drummer in 1983, Kevin Morris played in many groups including Love Affair, Deep Feeling, Red River Soul Band. He has backed American soul artists and toured the UK with Sam & Dave, Edwin Starr, Al Green, Stylistics, Detroit Emeralds, and Oscar Tong Junior. He also recorded music with English Assassin, Trust, and Mickey Jupp.
When Dr. Feelgood stopped touring due to singer Lee Brilleaux (born Lee John Collinson) having cancer, Kevin Morris worked with Ludwig and DW drum companies in sales and marketing their drums in the UK and liaison with drum endorsees etc. He still has contact with that side of music business as Kevin is the distributor of Ufip cymbals in the UK.
Kevin Morris also did gigs with Sid Griffin's group The Coal Porters and Mick Taylor's Blues Allstars.
Kevin says Keith Moon with The Who is his main source of inspiration: "Keith was the man who inspired me most, I always loved drums, and his enthusiasm was huge."
