Kerry "Shakerman" Greene was born in New York but moved to southern California when he was five, then on to Park City, Utah and Lake Tahoe/Nevada City, California.
Currently he works mostly as an independent distributor of hand percussion instruments and is very active in studying hand drumming and becoming a facilitator in the community drum circle movement.
No wonder, as Kerry Greene still likes things that shake and rattle as much as he did when he was a toddler. The Shakerman not only plays with his "toys", he builds them as well.
In the summer of 1993 in a quaint little shack in Northern California, his first product, Shakka Shakerz, was born. Greene later founded International Art & Sound (IAS).
Kerry Greene decided to build some shakers after being inspired by George Jinda, the renown New York percussionist who he saw live at the Great American Music Hall in San Fransisco.
