If you've ever attended or watched a Cleveland Indians home game, you have likely heard the "boom, boom, boom" coming from the stands. The man responsible for beating the rally drum is John Adams.



He started on August 24, 1973 and has been pounding it out for over 36 years and has only missed a handful of home games over that time span.



In fact, at some point over the season 2010-2011 John Adams reach an astonishing mark, attending his 3000th home baseball game. John:

"I bought a used drum set for $25 and am still using the 26-inch bass drum. I have the same head on the drum I started with in 1973 on the side I do not hit. It is a Ludwig. On the head that I hit, I now use Evans. My mallets are Ludwig tenor drum mallets. I go through about three sets of mallets and two drumheads a year."

John Adams played drums for two years with the St. Ignatius High School Band. He played two years with the Parma Senior High School Band. John Adams played bass drum and graduated in 1969.



John names Gene Krupa, Louie Bellson and Buddy Rich as his favorite drummers.
