Johannes Eder is the youngest member of the Via Nova Percussion Group. His area of specialization is new and experimental music. Within it his focus is above all on the expansion of the family of percussion instruments through addition of unconventional instruments. Upon joining the class under Peter Sadlo at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, his talent was rapidly recognized, and soon thereafter he became a regular member of the Austrian Ensemble for New Music, the Österreichisches Ensemble für Neue Musik (ÖENM).
In addition he performs regularly with the Camerata Salzburg and the Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg. Among the artists, with whom he has worked in the area of chamber music, are, among others, Adriana Hölszky, Gidon Kremer, Mario Brunello, Peter Sadlo, Justus Frantz, and the Stadler Quartet. He is a prize winner of the International Competition for Percussion Instruments Pendim 2007.
