Joey Williams started playing drums at the early age of 3. Beating on pots and pans, table saw blades and anything that remotely looked like a drum or accessory. He used to rock out to MTV after school, listening to Def Leppard and Guns 'n Roses while everyone else was listening to hip hop.
Joey Williams got his first gig at Sweet Holy Spirit at the age of 13 along with playing for Mark S. Hubbard and the United Voices For Christ.
He did his first recording session at the age of 14 ("No I Won't Turn Back") and from that point on he did just that.
During high school Joey Williams played in the marching band for about a year, for the rest he played in the jazz band and the gospel choir.
In his senior year Joey started playing for alternative rock band Big Backyard. Recordings and touring soon followed.
Next Joey Williams began playing for Urban Funk Ordinance, ODM NATION and recording with both bands along with others such as Janine Simone.
After being groomed in Chicago, he made his transition to Atlanta. Since then he has played with Mother's Finest, the Indigo Girls, Madoca, William Green, Carl Thomas, Ced Hawkins, Frank McComb and Three5Human, Julie Dexter, Urban Soul, Phillipia, Ken Ford, Joi, Shamora, Tameka Scott (Xcape), D. Woods (Danity Kane), India.Arie, Rich Boy, Algebra Blessett, Gordon Chambers, Heston, Bobby Jones (TV), Latoya Luckett, John Legend, Tweet and Dionne Ferris, Gordon Chambers, Rudy Currence and Rhonda Thomas just to name a few.
Along touring with Justin Bieber, Mothers Finest and Three5Human, Joey Williams is busy promoting and touring his freshmen solo project Joseph Williams Band Basement Jamz Vol. 1.
