Joel Matuzak has been the Program Coordinator and Percussion Arranger for Minnesota Brass, Inc. (MBI) for the past eleven years. During this time the corps has placed as high as second in the Drum Corps Associates World Championships and has won two percussion titles.
Joel Matuzak's day job is Director of Instrumental Music at Highland Park Senior High School in St. Paul, a position he has held for the past twelve years. He conducts three bands, an orchestra, and two jazz bands, as well as teaches an involved music theory program.
Joel Matuzak has taught marching percussion at many Minnesota high schools over the past eighteen years. Some highlights include: ten Minnesota Percussion Association Winter Drumline Championships with Irondale and Eagan High Schools, and two Winter Guard International World Class Finals appearances with Eagan High School.
Joel Matuzak is the current director of the Minnesota Vikings Skol Drumline and the MBI Winter Drumline. He is a sought after arranger, drill writer, clinician and adjudicator throughout the Upper Midwest. Joel Matuzak is an Alumni of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps.
