Percussionist Jody Linscott was touring with Dido in August 2004. Previously she worked with many artists including Billy Brag, Elton John, Joan Armatrading, the Pet Shop Boys, Santana, The Beautiful South and Snowy White. The London Philharmonic Orchestra, Nils Lofgren, Paul McCartney, The Who and Thunder are some other names in the impressive list.
Jody Linscott was honoured with a third place in the category 'Live Percussionist' of the Rhythm Magazine readers' poll in 2001.
Despite her success, Jody didn’t have a thought in my head of becoming a percussionist: "In 1971 I came to England on a holiday and never went back. I was squatting and studying to be a bookbinder. When I needed some money people would come and bring me things to fix cause I was good with my hands so I ended up with this wooden conga with a torn skin and the wood was coming apart. I fixed it but the guy never came back. That was the start."
