Jimmy Carnelli is a world-class concert drummer and vocalist performing all, rock, pop, funk, jazz, country, and classical styles in live and recorded performances. He is currently the drummer for legendary pianist Roger Williams and leads his own band. Jimmy is a state-of-the-art programmer, composer, producer, musical director, and educator.



Jimmy Carnelli has worked in a variety of live, recorded and televised situations since 1976 including Symphony performances, Arena Rock, Big Band, Small Ensemble and Ethnic situations.



Some of the artists Jimmy has worked with are Chuck Negron (Three Dog Night), Al Wilson, The Drifters, The Platters, The Coasters, Little Anthony, Wolfman Jack, Mike Pinera (Iron Butterfly), Otis Day, Badfinger, Spencer Davis, The Tokens, Harry Blackstone Jr., Bobby Day, Bobby Kimbal (Toto), Joan Rivers, Tiny Tim, Danny Gans, John Fogerty, and The LA Raiders big band.



Besides performing with the above listed artists, Jimmy has also enjoyed a very successful career recording in the advertising/promo field for such clients as CBS, United Paramount Network, Air Creative, Standing O Entertainment and Disney. He has worked on such projects as "Toy Story" spots for Saturday morning cartoons, "Picket Fences", "Children of the Dust", "Cybill", "Lonesome Dove", "Walker Texas Ranger", "Northern Exposure", "Scarlett","Queen", and "The Young and the Restless".

Currently, and for the last eight years Jimmy has enjoyed working with legendary pianist Roger Williams.



Through this experience he's had the opportunity to perform in famous venues such as Carnegie Hall and with such Symphony's as Phoenix Symphony, Salt Lake City Symphony, Memphis Symphony, Houston Symphony, Dallas Symphony, and many others.

Jimmy is currently teaching privately and has been doing so for over twenty-five years. He is very enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge with his students. Jimmy Carnelli has designed and implemented successful instruction programs at various music stores which has been backed by major percussion companies such as Aquarian Drum Heads and Pork Pie Percussion.



He currently offers private studio and in home lessons for his cliental. Jimmy is fluent in many various playing styles, and offers instruction in them all. He specializes in reading music, rudimental execution and in the tutoring of school orchestra percussion sections and drum lines. Jimmy teaches students from beginning to advanced levels and gives each student the opportunity to learn on both acoustic and electronic drums.



One of the unique assets of having Jimmy as an instructor is that he himself studied with world renown percussionist and instructor Murray Spivack. Through this private instruction with Murray, Jimmy learned and is qualified to teach Murray's concepts on precision snare drum technique.



Some of the other professional drummers that greatly benefited from Murray's teachings are: Louis Bellson, David Garibaldi, Chad Wackerman, Joey Heredia, Jack Le Compte, Mark Sanders, and many others. Jimmy has also had the great opportunity to apply Murray's teachings to his nine year gig with legendary pianist Roger Williams, where precision drumming is a prerequisite.
