Jesse Labovitz plays drums in Toronto five-piece No Warning, delivering volatile mix of New York Hardcore (NYHC) and melodic metal.



Jesse Labovitz's parents both work play as professional musicians in the Toronto Symphony. Recalls Labovitz:

"I used to go to a lot of orchestra concerts, and from a young age I watched the percussion. My parents never forced me to play anything, but when I started losing my baby teeth, I wrote notes that said, ‘Instead of giving me money, give me a drum set!’" Finnaly Jesse got one at age ten.



However, it would take a whiole before he switched to the hard and heavy music:

"In highschool I started doing a lot more timpani, sort of freelancing outside of Toronto and played in this training orchestra – they paid you to be in it. It was a good experience, with shows every night and a different program every week, and then I completely switched directions on that stuff! I’m really happy to be on drum set, that’s where I’m supposed to be."

The best proof of Labovitz's statement is "Suffer, Survive", No Warning's debut album that was recorded at Sound City in L.A., the birthplace of tracks for huge names like Nirvana and Soundgarden.
