Rockdrummer Jaroslav Kadlec was a member of Karamel and Katapult. Kadlec died in 1987.
Katapult was one of the mostly respected Czechoslovak heavy-rock bands and one of the first in Eastern Europe to have their own fan-club.
Oldrich Riha (guitar, vocals, harp), Jiri Sindelar (bass, vocals) and Anatoli Kohout (drums) got together around 1974 in a band called Mahagon. They changed their name to Katapult in late 1975 to avoid clashes with other Prague band of the same title.
The original line-up had drummer Anatoli Kohout and V. Krampol on percussion, but the latter quit within 1976. Soon after Jaroslav Kadlec stepped in as a drummer.
