Jarle Vespestad (born in Jessheim, 16th April 1966) is a Norwegian jazz musician (percussion), who graduated from the Toneheim folkehøgskole (1988) and Jazzlinja (NTNU) (1990).
In Trondheim Jarle Vespestad was involved in Veslefrekk, Trondheim Kunstorkester, Farmers Market (1991-) and the Maria Kannegaard trio (1993-), as well as Supersilent and duo cooperation with saxophonist Tore Brunborg, trio with Petter Wettre, and appearances with Bugge Wesseltoft.
In Oslo Jarle Vespestad has worked with a group since 1996, consisting of Sigurd Køhn, Silje Nergaard, Supersilent and Tord Gustavsen.

Along with fierce technique and startling abilities in complex rhythmic landscapes, Jarle Vespestad has a unique sense of expressive minimalism and quiet moods, which is really featured in Tord's trio.
Jarle is the younger brother of Liz Tove Vespestad who is also a well known musician.
