Even though Jan Jones was totally blind, he was a drummer who touched the lives of many people.



A native of Gatesville, Texas, Jan Jones moved to the Nashville area in the early 1970s. He traveled on the road with several bands, and served as the staff drummer at Long Hollow Jamboree for more than a decade



Jan Jones was also president of its Nashville chapter of the United States steel guitar community.



Jan Jones died in a car crash on November 7, 2014. He was 69 years old.
