Jacob Kaye, U.S. born and educated, began his music education with a solid foundation in Jazz and over the decades has evolved into an accomplished musician/ drummer in Contemporary Music. He is currently making strides toward the "extreme-drumming" styles. He plays with remarkable speed and coordinated independence. A career that spans four decades. Beginning at age five and continuing to this day. Born to Robert & Anne in 1955 on the U.S. East Coast. At age twelve, he quickly established himself as a high-paid "entertainer" with performances along side notable tenor player Hal Schiff, performing for the DuPont family.
Jacob Kaye's career continued ... playing local schools, Colleges, Universities working with men twice his age. Eventually he aged enough to play the club-scene. Performances ranging from the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival (on the bill with Pieces of a Dream). To working with Dexter Koontz (then with Hubert Laws) & Berklee graduate, Sean Koontz, (who worked with Gary Burton). Including performances with members of the Legendary "Philly" Jo Jones, Manyard Ferguson, & Woody Herman bands.
Eventually performing on the national/ international music scene with performances on the U.S. East & West coasts, Japan, Netherlands, Iceland, Canada, Bermuda. Performing before: Clint Eastwood, Gregory Peck, Sondra Locke, Bob Hope, Kirk Douglas, Caesar Romero, Vicki Carr, Former Presidents Ford & Regan, Foreign Royalty/ Dignitaries of England, Netherlands, Canada and U.S. (ceremonially) etc.
Jacob Kaye's career also has encompassed everything from performances with the Delaware Symphony, L.A. Pops Orchestra to opening for B.B. King at the Tampa Jazz Festival (now JVC Jazz Festival), Mid-West Music Educators' Clinic in Chicago, All Eastern Band & Instrumental Clinic, Lee Greenwood, Johnny Neel, & Musician "extra" the Disney movie, "Spies" w/ Cloris Leachman.
Jacob Kaye has appeared with: Johnny Neel, Lee Greenwood, Piamenta, L.A. Pops Orchestra, Hal Schiff,
Delaware Symphony Orchestra, Zemer, Roger Walls, US Marine Corps: jazz, big band, contemporary styles, marching percussion, concert percussion. He has perfomed with members of: Maynard Ferguson, "Philly" Jo Jones, Gary Burton, Hubert Laws groups, among others.
