Ingo Schwichtenberg was the original drummer for German metal band Helloween when they formed in 1984. He stayed with them for nine years.
Ingo was an excellent drummer and perfectly complimented the sound being put forth by the rest of the band. He appeared on "Helloween" (the Mini-LP), "Walls Of Jericho," "Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part I," "Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part II," "Pink Bubbles Go Ape," and "Chameleon," however he never contributed anything in terms of songwriting.
His departure from the group was not voluntary, as his drug and mental problems forced the band to release him from the band. Ingo was a schizophrenic and refused to take his medication, because of that he started doing drugs and started to lose it... It finally lead to his suicide on March 8, 1995. Helloween dedicated their 1996 release "The Time Of The Oath" to the memory of Ingo.
